VAULT.PPE ■ COPYRIGHT 1994 ROBERT BROWER ■ TOTAL ACCESS: (905)568-5294/2496
VOICE SUPPORT: 6PM-10PM WEEKDAYS & 10PM-10PM SAT & SUN. EASTERN US TIME
What is it?
VAULT.PPE is a very powerful and extremely configurable, yet simple to
install and maintain, time and byte bank. It allows callers to save their
unused time and bytes, exchange time for bytes and bytes for time, as well as
gamble time or bytes.
Installation?
You must have unzipped the ZIP file if you're reading this DOC file, so we'll
assume that you've already made a directory for VAULT.PPE and unzipped the
the following files:
VAULT.PPE The executable program
VAULT.DOC This text document
VAULT.CFG A sample configuration file
FILE_ID.DIZ File upload description
Next, you will need to edit the VAULT.CFG file to your liking. An explanation
of each line follows:
line 1: Foreground color (one char) (RANDOM if you want this randomized)
line 2: Background color (one char) (RANDOM if you want this randomized)
line 3: Highlight color (one char) (Randomized when background is RANDOM)
line 4: Max Bytes Withdraw Per Day, I use 1000000
line 5: Byte Exchange, I use 100000. Divide AMMOUNT by this to get minutes
for a byte exchange.
line 6: Max Time Withdraw Per Day, I use 30
line 7: Time Exchange, I use 10000. Multiply AMMOUNT by this to get bytes
for a time exchange.
line 8: Percent chance to win a byte gamble
line 9: Percent chance to win a time gamble
line 10: Maximum bytes allowed in account (not to exceed 9999999999999999)
line 11: Maximum minutes in account (not to exceed 9999999999999999)
*NOTE: It is important that you follow the above structure or the PPE will
not work properly. Also, this file MUST be named VAULT.CFG and must be in
the same directory as VAULT.PPE.
Next, add the following line to your CMD.LST file inside PCBSetup:
COMMAND SECURITY PATH & FILENAME
----------------------------------------------------------
BANK 20 C:\PCB\PPE\VAULT\VAULT.PPE
*NOTE: Your CMD.LST may vary. I am offering my configuration just as an
example.
Next, Ensure that the USER NOTES PSA is installed in your USER INFO FILE
in the PCBoard System Manager. USER NOTES has 5 indexes and all 5 are used
by VAULT.PPE. They may be edited by the sysop at any time. The indexes are
explained below:
U_NOTES(0): Bytes in vault
U_NOTES(1): Bytes withdrawn today
U_NOTES(2): Minutes in vault
U_NOTES(3): Minutes withdrawn today
U_NOTES(4): Date of Last Withdraw
That's all. Installation complete.
